New to tennis or a seasoned player?
Our tennis club provides a structured program divided into three distinct class types, each designed to meet the specific needs of your child’s tennis journey.
Red Ball (5 – 7 Years)
Red Ball tennis is for children aged 5-7 years old. The duration of a class is 45 minutes and during a class there will be on average one coach to four kids on court for the term.
What do we focus on?
- Learning to rally, development of dynamic skills specifically for tennis technique, footwork patterns and the basics of each tennis stroke
- The physical components – ABC’s; agility, balance and coordination. When these skills are mastered tennis is a whole lot easier to learn!
- A fun range of games lead by professional and enthusiastic coaches
- Basic scorekeeping – first to 10 points and point play is taught at this stage so kids can understand tennis quickly and independently
- Two Red Ball Tournaments per term run on Sundays (dates to be communicated each term)

Orange Ball (8 -9 Years)
The Orange Ball level is for children aged 8-9 years. Class times range from 45minutes to 60 minutes and during a class there is one coach for up to a maximum of six kids on court. We use a ¾ size court, 23-25” rackets, and orange coloured balls. Orange coloured balls have half the air pressure to a normal ball so they bounce more realistically for kids of this age which allows them to rally and construct points more effectively.
What do we focus on?
- Beginner, intermediate and advanced Orange classes are available to suit each child’s particular stage of development
- A combination of fun games, drills and point play gives our orange classes a balance of focused-fun
- Point Scoring: depending on their level group they will learn how to play either a pro-set style match or a Fast-Four set
- The importance of tennis etiquette and rules
- Two Orange Tournaments per term run on Sundays (dates to be communicated each term).
