Dom Forsdike (Head Coach)

Dom has served as Head Coach at Coogee Beach Tennis for a decade, demonstrating unwavering dedication and professionalism in his leadership and management of the program. With over 20 years of international coaching experience, Dom has held senior coaching positions across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, showcasing his versatile expertise and global perspective.

His journey began in America, where he spent four years playing college tennis captaining North Carolina Wesleyan College, ranked #5 nationally. Following his playing career, Dom coached at the esteemed Portland Country Club and contributed to Lights Out Tennis Academy in New England, where he developed and mentored aspiring collegiate players. He then returned to England to assume the role of Head Coach for the University of Kent’s men’s and women’s teams before bringing his talents to Australia.

Dom’s passion for tennis lies in its competitive and mentally challenging nature. He particularly thrives in teaching the mental aspects of the game, helping players elevate their performance by using relatable personal experiences of his client. He believes what sets Coogee Beach Tennis apart is its exceptional coaching team and program model in a friendly and motivated environment.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sports Management, Dom also possesses USPTA Level 3 coaching credentials.

With over a decade of coaching experience and a proven track record as Head Coach in the UK, Ali brings unmatched insight to his role as CBT’s Pro Shop Manager. His deep understanding of player development means he can recommend the right equipment, gear, and—most importantly—the perfect coaching program to suit your needs. Holding an LTA Level 3 qualification, a BSC in Sports Coaching, and Cardio Tennis certification, Ali knows exactly how the right tools and training combine to improve performance. Cameron Griffiths (Assistant Head Coach)

Cam serves as CBT’s Assistant Head Coach, where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing and developing both the Green Ball program and the Yellow Ball Performance squads. His responsibilities extend beyond program development, as he also works closely with players to foster their technical, tactical, and mental growth on court.

As a highly accomplished player himself, Cam competes regularly in the top tier of the ESTA competition, maintaining an impressive winning record. This ongoing involvement at a high competitive level allows him to bring valuable, real-world experience directly into his coaching sessions. Students benefit from his first-hand understanding of match pressure, strategy, and mental resilience, and he is known for easily building rapport with players of all ages through his approachable yet professional manner.

Driven by an innate competitiveness and strong self-motivation, Cam consistently inspires his students to maximise their potential and strive for continuous improvement. His coaching is characterised by a high-energy, enthusiastic style that encourages players to match his intensity and commitment during lessons. This dynamic approach not only sharpens technical skills but also instills the mental discipline and focus required for competitive tennis.

Since joining CBT in 2017, Cam has become one of the most respected and sought-after coaches in the region, recognised for both his professional expertise and his ability to inspire lasting passion for the sport.

Henry Hall

Henry has coached tennis for nearly 4 years across the UK, Greece and Australia. With an extensive background in the game, he’s competed in the main draw of the Orange Bowl Junior World Championships and boasted a top 50 ranking in Europe for under 16’s. Having competed in over 15 different countries he has also had the luxury of training with Andy Murray, Jamie Murray and Greg Rusedski.

Henry has experience coaching all levels and abilities including wheelchair tennis after acting as hitting partner for Lucy Shuker (top 10 in the world for wheelchair tennis and Olympic bronze medallist). He also has experience in coaching junior development, junior performance, schools, cardio tennis, adult beginners, private clients and even celebrities. Henry has done it all along with improving two under 14-year-old juniors from outside top 200 ranking in the UK to inside the top 30 in 18 months.

Ian Davis

A veteran of Eastern Suburbs Tennis Club and our very own legend of the game, Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Senior Coach. At 75 years of age, Ian has been playing tennis at Coogee for more than 65 years! His achievements include NSW U/16 Champion and all divisions of Interdistrict as well as making several Australian Teams and Team Tennis Germany. He is the current World No. 21 for over 70’s and the current No. 2 Australian and Oceania over 70. Having commenced his coaching career at the tender age of 15, Ian has been coaching ever since and holds an ATPCA Level 2. His role model is Rod Laver and his favourite court to play on is Court 1 at Coogee. His coaching vision is to enable students to achieve a level to play and enjoy the great game of tennis. A true local, he loves the great people and great tennis that make up the club but can’t stand when things in the pro shop are not put back where they came from!

Zavia Leslie-Adam

Zavia Leslie-Adam has spent over 20 years involved in competitive tennis, progressing from national junior events into ITF and Challenger Tour competition. He represented New South Wales as part of the 2016 U18 Pizzey Cup Championship team for School Sport Australia and later competed for University of Sydney in both Division 1 and Premier Division tennis. Zavia also holds a Level 2 coaching certification.

Known for his energetic personality and competitive mindset, Zavia creates a positive and engaging environment on court for players of all ages and abilities. He enjoys building strong relationships with members and takes pride in helping players grow in confidence both on and off the court. Whether coaching beginners or advanced competitors, his focus is on making lessons enjoyable, challenging, and tailored to each individual.

Jack Grayer

Jack moved to Australia recently from South Wales after his coaching career in Turkey. He started to coach at the age of 13, and he has Level 3 qualification. In 2017, he was a captain of the Country Cup for South Wales.

He enjoys all his lessons with clients, whether it’s fun or competitive tennis.

Rob Allen

Rob has been coaching sports for over a decade, starting as a TA at his local tennis centre, working his way up and becoming an LTA Level 2 Tennis coach. At 18, Rob travelled to America to become a tennis coach at a summer camp, where after impressing, Rob was promoted to supervisor the following summer. Rob has since graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Sports Management, in which he achieved a 2.1.

Rob’s post-graduate job was as a Sports coach working within Primary schools in North Devon where Rob taught 18 sports.

Rob’s coaching style is very enthusiastic and high energy. He enjoys the creativity of bringing other sports into tennis to create an all-around athlete. In his spare time, you would find Rob out for a run or down the beach for a swim.
