Social Tennis

  • All players should have at least basic tennis skills to participate in social tennis. Basic tennis skills include the 6 strokes – serve, forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, and the overhead smash. These strokes are the fundamental movements for a player to hit a tennis ball. All players have to be comfortable with these shots to have similar standards with other players.
  • New members are to be assessed for the above basic tennis skills in a 30 min assessment lesson with one of our coaches at the cost of $50.
  • We may assess your skills and recommend you tennis lessons before playing social tennis to ensure similar tennis standards.
  • All players are guaranteed a minimum of three sets (30min/set) during the night. Please expect to sit off during the play.
  • If you cannot attend, please notify us by emailing clubhouse@cbtennis.com.au
  • To be entitled to obtain a credit refund, we need a minimum of 24 hours notice that you will not be attending. There will be no credit refund if less than 24 hours notice of cancellation has been given, and the full fee will be charged.
  •  In the event of illness, sickness or injury, the same 24-hour policy above applies unless a member can provide a medical certificate or message from a medical centre. Please understand your attendance affects the service for other players and staff coordination. Social tennis can be cancelled due to too much rain, nearby thunder, temperature above 38C or poor air quality of API 151+. In this case, we will send you an SMS message as soon as we can and we will do our best where possible to send this msg at least 30minutes before the start of your session. If you don’t get a message, then presume the tennis is on.
  • If the poor weather conditions commence during social tennis and our staff decide that courts are unplayable due to unsafe weather conditions, the following refund conditions apply:
  • Members do not finish the first set (30 minutes) – full credit given on your account.
  • Members play less than three sets – 50% credit given.
  • Members play more than three sets – no credit given.

Tennis Competitions

  • Competition tennis is only for our Club Social Members.
  • New members who want to join a team or reserve list, they need to have a 30-minute assessment lesson with one of our coaches at the extra cost of $50. This allows us to determine the correct tennis level and therefore which competition you’re best suited for.
  • For further competition rules please refer to our website.
